The Rev. George Bosley 1872

The Rev George Bosley of Kenton, Ohio, resigned from St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Marion, Ohio and in 1872 he was was designated Missionary at large by the Episcopal Church, residing at Put-in-Bay.

The Rev George Bosley was born in Brook Country, West Virginia on Dec 28th 1835. He attended Kenyon College, Gambier and was ordained a deacon in 1868 by The Rt Rev Bedell of Ohio after graduation. The following year he was ordained to the priesthood. His service to the church included the church at Cuyahoga Falls (1867-1871), In 1872 he began serving St Paul’s in Kenton, Ohio, In 1873 he was “temporarily acting as missionary at large at St Paul’s Put_In-Bay.” His ministry continued as Trinity in Alliance, Ohio, and St James in Boardman.

The Churchman Published on May 1st 1886 reported Mr Bosley was energetically seeking to minister to the “deaf-mute” community in the area of St Paul’s in Kenton. He died June 23 1898 at the age of 62.
